Anyway, I just replied to a PM query about transportation from Chek Lap Kok airport to CP via the direct train Hunghom-CP which may be of some use to some of you guys who are sick and tired of these Vans supposedly direct from the airport, but actually with all their diversions or always on tenterhooks with the Cowboy driving habits of China Drivers!

is the most comfortable way to go to CP/GZ from Hong Kong. All one does is to clear HKG customs immigration at Hunghom and do the same for the PRC ones in CP - and in between, just sit in quite comfortable, spacious chairs in an air-conditioned train coach. The only thing you want to avoid is being assigned on the #1 coach on the Chinese trains as these has fixed-back hard seats.
Please also note that those trains marked "KTT" are more modern Double-decker trains run by the MTRC instead of the China side and are cleaner, sleeker although not any more comfortable as a whole.
And to make sure that you can get a ticket (although I many times just show up half an hour or so prior to my intended departure scheduled train with no problems during regular work-days - some problems week-ends/during Canton Trade Fair season!), you can pre-book on their website.
Yeah, one of the best ways to go to CP from Hong Kong IMHO - and BTW, there is also airport bus #A21 which depart the airport every 10-20 mins for HK$33 and takes approx 45 minutes to Hunghom station if you're not in too much of a hurry. The Airport express to Kowloon Station and on to a Taxi to Hunghom station way will not be that much faster plus of course a bit more expensive....and you get a nice "tour" of Kowloon on the upper deck of the bus!!
