It's the truth nothing to be shy of. Do u seriously think you can throw your weight around in this forum because of rept points? U try telling that to Sam and he will probably give you 800-1000 points or so and you see whether u can throw ur weight around. The only person who can throw his weight around in SBF is Sammyboy SC

SC, this Peter North is the same samster who last time ask the bros to pay 10,000 baht to take part in orgy party in MP. Says he booked whole MP, end up no news, I wonder if he refunded all the money to the bros or not.
Peter North, high rep points dun mean shit. TeeVee is a good example. Enough said

Re: Suvarnbhumi Airport - New Bangkok International Airport
Hi
Just took a flight out of the airport yesterday, the first day of operation. Of course, there are hiccup. For example, we were told to go to gate F4 upon check-in. When we reach F4 with 45 minutes to take-off, we were told that the gates had changed. Check the board and then saw that it is relocated to C1a. With 15 minutes to go (as we have to board 30 minutes prior) Thus we rush there. Sorry, for those who do not know the layout, the gates are spread from A to F along the entire length, which is about 2 KM long. The centre is catered for restaurant and stuff, which means that gates A-C is on one side and D to F is on another side. So imagine rushing from F to C, with the obstacles of people, trolleys, stalls, etc along the way, it could have been the 2.4 KM obstacle course. Upon reaching the gate, no staff were on location yet. We also notice groups of people rushing in the opposite direction, i guess that this is common happening for now. There were also dancers, drummers on hand, and it seem that it is only for Thai airlines. Nevertheless, all of us got an information kit, and I got some details to share. Bus Routes connect Suvarnabhumi Airport to the city: Bus 549 connects airport to Minburi: via Ladkrabang RD, taking a right turn to Rom Klao Rd, cutting left to Sihaburanukit Minburi Rd, taking left turn to Seri Thai Rd. End the route at Bangkapi Bus 550 connects Airport to Happy Land via Ladhrabang Rd, On-Nut Rd, turningright to Sri Nakarin Rd, turning left to Ladprao Rd and turning right to HappyLand. Bus 551 connect Airport to Victory Monument via New Bangkok-Chonburi expressway to Srirat expressway for exit at Rama 9 toll gate to continue further along Asoke-Dindang Rd and Rachawithi Rd for the final stop at the victory monument. Bus 552 connect Airport to On-Nut sky train station via Bangna-Bangpaking Rd, taking a right turn to Sukhumit Rd until the On-Nut sky train station. Bus 553 connet Airport Samutprakarn Province via Ladkrabang Rd, taking a left turn to Kingkaew Rd, turning right to Bangna-Bangpakong Rd, turning left to sri Nakarin Rd, turning right to Sukhumit Rd, turning left to Sai Luad Rd until Samutpakarm. Bus 554 connect airport to Bangkok International Airport via New Bangkok-Chonburi expressway, turning right to the esatern-outer ring Rd, taking a left turn to Ramintra Rd, Changwattana Rd, turning right to Vibhavadi Rangsit Rd until reaching Bangkok International Airport. |

Re: Suvarnbhumi Airport - New Bangkok International Airport
[QUOTE=waslee]I just came back from the new airport today. Just to let some bros who are worried about the new airport, here's the situation I discovered:
Firstly, the it is actually not that far from the city area. If you take the route to Bangna towards Chon Buri, should be able to reach within 30 min from Ratchada area (provided no jam). Fare is less than 200 bht. If live in Sukhumvit, should be even cheaper. Hi bro, Thanks for the information as I am staying at Ratchada area for my oct's trip. Btw, the airport tax will increase from 5ooBath to 700Bath with effect on Feb 2007 as I read from Spore chinese news paper. Cheers.

Re: Suvarnbhumi Airport - New Bangkok International Airport
Bro adboy and Bushnell, thanks for sharing. Read from the airport site that that no taxi allowed to stop at the new airport Arrival Hall and travellers have to take the free shuttle bus to the bus station to catch a cab. Did u take a cab from the airport bus station or did u go to level 4 - Departure to board the taxi as passenger gets off? Can confirm. Thanks.

You pay tax separately for now, but starting in Feb 1, 2007, the airport tax will be included in your plane ticket--based on reports. |

Re: Suvarnbhumi Airport - New Bangkok International Airport
adboy_6,
Good first hand (and useful) info, we appreciate it sstand, Earlier on, I was also concerned of not being able to hop on taxi directly on arrival but via shuttle to some silly transport centre. So dumb, imagine lugging bags and all. Did think of jumping on at departure, like I always do even at D Muang, no Q and no need to pay airport surcharge. But just read somewhere (probably KTL's KNN news on Thailand thread) that taxi can now pick up directly from arrivals. But saw some map, it's on outer lane (hope not mean we have to dash across!).

Re: Suvarnbhumi Airport - New Bangkok International Airport
Hi
I took a cab to the city, was staying near sukhumit/asoke junction and took me about 30 minutes to reach airport. There was hardly any jam, mainly because I went @ about 4 AM. Along the way, was still able to see convey of truck and lorries ,etc, and staircase (those that you use to crimb onto the budget planes. It was a sight, really, The tax is still 500B for now. and shops are open, though not all. |
