barry and steven gerrard are good pals. Although he is overprice, he got the edge cos he can click with SG immediately. Good pals always form good partnership cos they will be able to read each other mind. I feel barry can complement gerrard more than mascherano. With a triangle of gerrard, torres and barry, it can be quite exciting.

Not really. Not very sure about him. Foreign players need time to adapt and we'll need a start as strong as last year's. But for the price, can consider.

As for Momo, the eye in the boot incident really changed his performance. It's a very serious injury and given that he's about 20 when it happened... If he were in NS, I think it's a downgradeable injury. Probably C2L9. He's a good player at breaking up attacks and harrassing opponents. Problem is: Mascherano is better than Momo at defensive duties and passes the ball better.

I hope Babel's ankle injury dun heal so quickly... otherwise he will be bound for the olympics.

yes, yes, that is the formation. what benitez wanted was for barry to provide a balanced midfield with a natural left-legged player and at the same time, able to provide better defensive cover. barry also possess a good passing range and can help with the attacks by arriving late in the box or shoot from outside the box. not to mention that he possesses a good cross as well.

but if keane comes as well, then i suspect benitez will play the spanish formation of 4-1-3-2 with mascherano as the sole holding midfield and keane playing the support striker's role.
