It just came out in the local news with an interview by Jakarta Governor on the closure of Hotel Alexis.

Heading back to Jakarta this month after a long while. So is Alexis closed now? Or waiting to close..damn haven't visit the place for 2 years thought of going this trip. Looks like just gotta stick to Malioboro then 😁

I had lunch with the guy who owns Malioboro once many years ago. I know he said he also had King Cross and Stadium, but I am honestly not sure about Alexis. I do know girls who used to work at Alexis who now work at Malioboro. Alexis for some reason is the most high profile place in Jakarta. It's not surprising they would go after it. However, it would be surprising if they do close it and a definite disappointment. If they did close Alexis, I would expect those girls to move to the other places.

This is a terrible time to come to Jakarta.

Alexis is already closed. Bars have closed their fishtanks and turned off the lights in them. Their girls have to stand or sit outside the fishtanks.

No massage girls sitting on the sofas at Travel, altho the lites are still on the sofas. Only some girls sitting with customers at tables. There were some girls on sofas in the "secret" room. The parking lot was almost empty.

Dunno know if things open up later at nite.

Lokasari still had FLs, including some young ones.

City councils discussing the closure of other prostitution spots, and specifically call out Classic, Malio among others. Now that 'invincible' Alexis closed, everyone else is a target. You can see this on local news, so these places are operating limited or very low key, probably no sexy or strip show for a long time. Yes, terrible time to goto Jakarta. Not sure if it will get better or worse there...

After Alexis, Sandi Sets Sight on Classic Hotel

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Sandiaga Uno said that he still awaits reports from locals about Classic Hotel that is believed to run the same business as Alexis Hotel.

“As for Classic, I have yet to receive any report,” he said in a meeting with mass organization Bang Japar Jakarta on November 5.

Classic Hotel issue was raised in the meeting with Bang Japar on the eradication of drugs, violence and prostitution in Jakarta. “As for prostitution, Bang Japar is ready to assist. Alexis has been closed already; Alexis will be renamed Al-Ikhlas,” he said.

Alexis Hotel has stopped operations since October 31 after it was denied business permit extension by the Jakarta administration. Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said that the permit was revoked based on reports from locals and mass media.
