Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez will compete for Atletico Madrid hotshot Fernando Torres at the end of this season.
Benitez sent his top Spanish scout Pedro Campos to watch Torres in action against Real Madrid on Saturday and received a glowing report.

The Atletico Madrid hitman, 22, delivered a first-rate display including a stunning strike for his ninth goal of the season.

Liverpool would have to pay £27m to meet the transfer clause in Torres' contract if they decide to go for him ahead of Eto'o.

That would smash Reds' record £14m transfer fee to land Djibril Cisse from Auxerre in 2004.

Well.. i think its ok... we bring in top class signings so the current crop of players either shape up or ship out... Maybe not the reserve league, but league cup, FA Cup, Premiership and Champions League... hehehe... we really need depth in our squad if we ever fantasize about such a sweep ...
