In pinas, Christmas, celebration, donation collection etc. etc. starts in September and by October, it is in full swing .. so much so, by November, X-Mas parties galore ..

Tell me about it. Begging on fields is at an all time high. So irritating.

In my two weeks here every merry Christmas greet is followed up with a give me line. I feel the loss of the spirit of Christmas when I in Philippine. Sad.

I guess it's their culture to beg shamelessly from the President to the homeless.
It seems like every disaster is an opportunity to beg for money in the guise of International Aid for the victims but seldom does the money filter down to the actual victims.

The recent typhoon Bopha is an example...... there was a collection by a church group frequently attended by pinays for the typhoon victims in orchard road area. What pissed me off was they requested for CASH from those donors. My hotel has underwent some upgrading and has about 2,000 pieces of blankets which we wanted to donate...... but no sir, we only collect cash donations.

I was in walking st w my girl n this old woman beggar followed behind me keep saying: handsome pls give me money, after repeating the line for 5 times over a 30m distance she gave up n said : kuripot.
Next night, the same woman saying the same line following me again, expecting me to give after calling me kuripot???


I was chatting w the door girls outside Cambodia n this woman who sell rose came n asked me to buy 100p per stalk for the girls.
I ignored her n she start telling the girls i m kurimau.
As 1 of the doorgirl was really sweet n my type, i showed her a few pics in my cellphone of me giving rice to the people in some squatter area.
The woman peep n remarked: these people r not poor they r lazy n only boom boom to make babies, i m really the poor one cause i work. People who give don't have to show.

I said: It's up to me who i want to give n i show the pics to shut off some big mouth.
She lanlan n walked away.


Cialis peddlers, beggars, baklas, trikes i just walk pass n take them as invisible as too many of them. A bit impolite of me but can't be helped.


U hv to show these beggars/peddlars they r just wasting their time cause u not gonna budge watever they do, then they recognise u n leave u alone.

There's a saying.BeGGar can't be chooser.they choose because they are not beggar but ....2000blanket can create warmness for more than 2000pax.they don't even take into consideration and reject it straight?make sense..

One morning I was walking back with my barfine to hotel after a nights out & breakfast at philis.a group of young beggar teen looking like some ah beng ah seng walk towards me one teen spit then put his hands out with a fuck dup face asking me then my girl for money.what a way to beg.spit then ask for money.sure more rude than your 'kuriput' lady

She's just jealous that she doesnt get the price of cake lol.100 per stalk of rose =rice to a few needy.I'm sure her business is good.

Sometime out of goodwill I buy chewing gums at 20p with the kids or cig with the vendor when I ran of of them and everytime I walk past them they wont stop bother me day & night but some are quite polite.it's the beggars & baklas that are the persistent one I guess they have nothing to lose anyway so just keep trying anyway?

Spot on.engage in any conversation or even eye contact gurantee them swarming around u.I sometime shake head with a smile they don't take no for a answer so like u,I just walk like they are invisible that's the best way so far

A way of life to be annoy by pest every 1 m u walk on fields.

Those are queen sized blankets and can keep homeless families warm.
Makes me wonder why they only want cash donations.
