1 typical example and how Thai ppl loses faith in Thai justice. RedBull owner a billionaire, grand son drunk driving and killed someone in an accident. After more than 5 years, that bastard is still out in the society carefree. It took years to investigate and the court appearance had been postponed many times till the IO passed away, new IO took over and had to re-investigate and some of the charges had expired. It is a joke in the world for Thai jurisdiction. It is telling others and the local society, when u are rich, kill anyone n dun worry.

I always tell others, SG is lucky to have these neighbours around us... if we have neighbours like China, Japan, Korean, SG is death.

Share with you my experience on how the ICA works. Several years ago after I passed out from OCS and was on attachment to the Civil Service, one of the agencies where I spent 3 months OJT was the ICA. I can assure you that cases with appeals from MPs are treated differently.

Eg. Applications for visa extensions are reviewed and SOP is 1 month extension for normal cases. However if the applicant produces an appeal letter from his/her MP then the extension is slashed to 2 weeks. This is done so that we can reply to the MP that the extension given is 2 weeks but on account of the MP's appeal.... ICA has decided to give extension for another 2 weeks making a total of 1 month extension.

This is LPPL but being new and OJT at that time, we just follow the SOP.
This is the way the civil service works back then and although it was many years ago, I believe the system has not change much. Matters are engineered to make the government (MPs) look good but it is actually all a charade to fool the common people.

Need advice from those who have experience in this.

If my gf is being banned from setting foot in singapore for a couple of years, and we would like to get married whilst the ban is still in place, how to actually properly go about doing it?

Is it by marrying in thailand first and then take the cert back to be translated and submit to ROM then with the marriage cert she can enter sg?

Or have something like a letter of approval for her to enter sg to register our marriage at ROM? Then translate it to thai to submit in thailand, thereafter, she can enter sg freely on a tourist pass evertime by showing her marriage cert?

Thanks in advance and appreciate any inputs

Cheers

If she is banned in SG, she did a mistake and definitely not a small mistake.
Think twice, thrice, four or even hundreds time of getting marry. From your description, your problem starts and will last long, getting her into SG then getting her to stay long in SG.

ROM and ICA are totally different entities... U can marry anyone on this earth as long she is single and a woman. ROM dun care n u dun have to submit any document to ROM but just update your marriage status. ICA will not her to come in because of marriage.

No letter of approval will be given to anyone because of marriage... ICA will determine who can come in n who can't. Even with SG marriage cert, there is no guarantee the wife will be entering SG freely.

Stay in Thailand, get married and have baby in Thailand... then slowly try to get her a proper visa, ie LTVP. Very tough for your case but still there is small chance of approving. Find another gf, this will be easier.

Start applying to enter SG after the ban...usually 3 years or more...

I think every case is different and ICA looks at the facts before coming to a decision. I remember a case involving one of my men.

Many years ago when I was serving in the SAF.... our unit was in Lopburi for a 5 month training stint and during that period one of my men got to know a local girl from the nearby village. They fell in love and got married. Problem started when my guy tried to bring her back to Sgp...... she had been caught for FL activity at one of the local hotels..... in the follow up investigations she agreed to be a prosecution witness in the case against the OKT syndicate and was assigned to a Cat40 house in GL pending the court case....... but she did a disappearing act about 1 week later from the Cat40 house and returned to LOS.

Having become aware of the facts behind his wife's ban....... so my guy applied for transfer to LOS and was based there in one of our liaison offices for 5 yrs. She bore him a son and when he was posted back to Sgp...... ICA only allowed his son to come back with him but not his wife. Despite numerous appeals and even seeking assistance from our CDF and Defence Minister.... his wife was never allowed to come back to Sgp.

It was only after his son had finished serving his NS several years later..... that ICA finally relented and issued a 14-day visa to his wife.

So think very carefully about marrying her..... especially the reason why she has been banned from Sgp.

A very big thank you to the previous replies.

Yes i know what i am getting myself into and i definitely know the reason she was being banned. Considering the options that you guys had mentioned, i guess it will be marrying in thailand, then get the script to singapore to officiate it on a voluntary basis. Then it is really up to ICA. No, she did not do any disappearing acts and had been coorperating fully. so it will most likely be a 3-5 years of ban as an unwanted visitor.

I think if am mentally strong, i can just keep spamming to appeal to get her in huh?

Bro hurricane, based on your reply, do you mean the girl will know how long she will be banned from?

Cheers
