I still think wait and see...this law can keep changing...the Vietnamese economy is not doing well...tourists are down...so a bit of optimism because many unsold houses since 4 to 5 years ago sitting empty...

Did you guys also used to have lots of Russians who've now stopped coming when their economy tanked?

That's what happened in Thailand and have contributed greatly to the malaise there.

I remembered back in 1990-1992...the Russians come to Singapore with bags sacked of $$$...mostly in USD or Roubles...we can trade anything with them...the Russians bought containers loads of PC computers, Printers, TVs, Facsimile machine and many things...heard even those ladies umbrella...all paying in cash...business was brisk especially in Sim Lim Square, level 4 to 6...

Many contracts were signed but out of 10 maybe 1 or 2 fulfilled...strictly money upfront before shipment...

Those were the days after Glasnost/Gorbachev when Russia was the wild wild west in Democracy/Free trade.

The Russians I was asking about are those of the 2010's who had made pots of money/are the nouveau riche who traveled all over SE Asia (or at least for sure Thailand) splurging everywhere they went and buying holiday homes in Phuket etc.

Since the economic sanctions imposed by the US/Europe, the Russian ruble had tanked and there's a lot less Russians in Thailand. Same phenomenon in Vietnam?
