Yes Bangkok....Wat Mahathat location is: Na Phrathat Rd near Sanam Luang Park, between the Grand Palace and the National Museum. The amulet market is adjacent to the temple between Maharat Road & the river.

The other newer amulet market at Wat Ratchanada is a stone throw away, off the intersection of Mahachai Road and Ratchadamnoen Klang Road, across from the Golden Mount at Wat Saket. These directions are as detailed as I can give them, hope you can find the place

From the very cheap to the very expensive you can find there. Cant advise on the customs as I am newbie in amulets & yet to take out so many pieces, maybe you can wear them all.....I've seen pictures of Thai men with hundreds of amulets around their necks!!!

If u take a taxi, tell driver "Pantip song". In BKK there r 2 Pantip. Pantip song is near the old airport.

later u hurt your neck. as the big biscuit can be quite BIG . As i know should not be a problem for amulet when you bring in. (Note as nowadays amulet can be quite x as middleman book the whole lot from Thai temple and resell to shop(market). friend told me)
