Hi guys,

i am a regular reader of the forum here and this is my first time posting as i really require some advice for the experience bros here. I would really appreciate any sound advice

Here is my problem................

I intend to marry a vietnamese woman here as well but the problem is,

1) she is involve in the case where the CID obtain the fake social visit pass extension for them for a sum of money. As a result, her passport kena hold back by CPIB to help CPIB assist in their investigaion (been here for almost 2 years liao) Once the case is over, she can go back (which is soon) Most likely she will be banned for 1-3 years (i asked the IO but he gave me vague answers)

2) During her almost 2 years stay here, kana caught twice by AV but release due to her status for assisting CPIB, So i do not know her status in immgration.

My question is, if i ROM with her while she is still in singapore, what are the chances for her to come back within the banned period or how can i speed things up (cause my family still in the dark. thought she is normal viet girl here for study)

Do i need to speak to a lawyer or immgration or CPIB (vague answers neither here nor there again?)

for me, personal status is stable job. CPF and income tax regularly for the past 5 years

i thank you bros here for any advice in advance

Looks like we're much appreciated in Vietnam then in Thailand. Must try it for myself in the coming months. See if I can feel like a VIP when I step into HCM or Hanoi. Vietnam is very favourable for Singaporeans for now. Haha.

Your Vietnamese business associates are asking for too much. Where got such good deals? Don't think any Singaporeans so dumb as to accept such proposals unless related by marriage.

We all are definately online.. As for your case, i think very few encounter before.. So that's why no answer..

As for my opinion, you can only try if you really like her so much.. If not, it's up to you..

I can only say, marrying a foreign wife is never easy unless you are very lucky.. Either financials, Problems with ICA, communications etc....

So the future is yours.. Make your choice..

I dun think there are ways to speed up things as you know Singapore Standard.. Even my wife till date also haven't got her P.R. yet after 2 years of marriage.. But my friend who is damn lucky got it after 6 months..

I'm so angry about it. In terms of financial status, my income was 50% more when which was rejected.. And he was being sue by banks for unable to pay for credit cards bills, even handphone bills..

And for this year, i just reapply 1 month plus ago, if still cannot get. Would be super hot. This year income double of last year, then still got a son jusst give birth not long.. If i cannot get, i really dun know what is the ICA thinking..

They checking on the husband of the foreign wife.. But they should be checking whether the person is able to support the wife, any criminal or even other law suits and other charges.. If unable, how can you approve? A person with such low income and suits awaiting for him yet approved..

I sincerely empathised with your situation but unfortunately I do not forsee any favourable outcome in your case....

The IO WILL NOT give you any concrete reply as it will not be up to him to decide. The reason she is still allowed to stay in Sinkapor is becos she is a prosecution witness and hence will be till the case have been heard & tried.

The sad part is that she will be definitely be deported & banned as this is a criminal offence that carries a mandatory jail term and not something minor (altho it is not her that is being charged). The MHA carries a very dim view of corruption in Sinkapor especially in the public sector.

You will also faced problems later in trying to apply for any SVP/LTVP/PR....etc as she will be listed under "undesirables".

Apologies for not being able to give you any good news....

BTW just an additional piece for you to ponder over, sometimes love is blind but there will be situations where you will be forced to take a reality check, like right now , there are many here with vietnamese spouses and which I am sure will be most willing to introduce a virtuous vietnamese village girl relative to you as long as you can provide her with a good life, look beyond to the forest dear bro........

i willing to wait 3years for her provided she can come back. any other avenue to seek help?

if i just hack care and marry her first, later will it be slightly more easier or will have more problem? she told me someone in her situation actually got married first and managed to come back. i dunno true or not

i told her let me meet the husband of her friend and we will work out a solution with him. but she keep giving me excuse like friend out of country lah, etc... i also dunno true or not.

Even the countryside folks (eg. An Giang Province) say Stinkapore is numero uno n thus popular throughout the country. You can already deduce from the fact that the products (eg. body foam, toothpaste) they want must be "Made in Singapore".
