To all vietperts here,

Have a conversation with my friend last nite, heard from him that coming september all vn ppl coming to sing will need a visa

...wonder how true is it ? He also cannot confirm with me, juz ask to wait untill sept to confirm.. wondering if any bros here have heard of tis news

Wah, bad news if this is true. Means singaporeans also needs visa to visit Vn.

I don't think this possible because of the ASEAN Free Trade Agreement signed amongst all member states.

ya, that will go against the spirit of ASEAN .... if that's true, how about Thailand, Indonesia, or even Malaysia???? also need visa?

The rumour may be true as the amount of crime involving Vietnamese in Singapore has risen drastically in recent years. Last time only WL problem, now also got Viet man peddling with illegal cigarattes. To add to that, there seems to be quite some vietnamese pick pocket rings operating in Singapore often. I think our government knows how to balance the pros and cons of allowing vietnamese free access into singapore. If the amount of money spent by vietnamese tourist is much more than the crime committed by them here, then government sure close one eye. But it seems that vietnamese tourists don't spend much here. They stay in 3 stars or less hotels most of the time and are small spenders compare to other tourists.

Not all ASEAN states allow free access to Singaporeans. From my knowledge, Myanmar and Cambodia still require singaporeans

Anyone knows how to obtain permanent residency or long-term stay in Vietnam (for Singaporean married to Vietnamese ? Heard to get PR in Vietnam iis hard. With that, can stay in Vietnam, so much cheaper.

In vietnam, u can get any thing done as long as u are willing to pay USD. If you are willing to pay, i can get you legal resident status in Vietnam.

It is cheaper to stay in vietnam if u live life their local way. Stay in small houses, eat by roadside, ride motorbike etc. But by doing all these, u will realise that you will be looked down by the locals. They will start to gossip about u and yr wife will have no face. But if u live the expat way, rent an apt and send yr children to international schools, then staying in Vietnam is not cheap
