if u stay northeast, can try Poh Kee satay at Kovan. The coffeeshop near to bowling alley.

It depends on the amount of cash you're willing to spend. I can give some really good ones, restaurants though. I don't really recommend, or favour, western food from hawker centers. I'll be waiting for the day that I find a western food in a hawker center that can be compared to a restaurant's. There's just this huge gap between them. Also - don't go to chain restaurants like Swensens.
