Vietnamese men arrested for attacking American in Hanoi

Videos of the road-rage fight were posted on YouTube and have gone viral over the past days.

Police in Hanoi have detained two Vietnamese men for assaulting an American man following a road rage incident. A criminal investigation is also underway.

Nguyen Duy Khanh, 26, and Doan Van Cuong, 29, were filmed assaulting David Maxwell, 27, after a traffic collision on Tran Khat Chan Street last Friday, Tien Phong (Vanguard) newspaper reported

Maxwell was riding a motorbike with his girlfriend when they collided with Khanh's car and his sandal slipped under the wheel, according to police.

While he was trying to retrieve the sandal, Maxwell knocked the car's wing mirror, prompting Khanh to get out and allegedly attack him. Khanh's friend Cuong arrived on a motorbike soon after and threatened the American with a brick.

The fight only ended when police officers arrived at the scene.

While the two sides have asked to settle the case between themselves, police have decided to treat it as a criminal offense as the fight caused public disorder and involved a foreigner, according to Vietnam Television.

Man cracks car windshield, hits female passenger with helmet in southern Vietnam

Police are looking for a man who cracked a car windshield and attacked a female passenger with a helmet for unknown reasons in southern Vietnam.
The male attacker had already fled the scene when officers arrived and is still being hunted by local police.

A video recently uploaded to Facebook captured a scuffle on Cach Mang Thang Tam Street in Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province, that reportedly occurred on Sunday afternoon.

In the 46-second clip, a motorbike can be seen parked in front of a car with a broken windshield, as a man repeatedly charges at a young woman and hits her on the head with a helmet in his hand.

Another woman, allegedly an acquaintance of the man, can be seen trying to calm him down.

According to an eyewitness, the male attacker stomped on the car’s windshield, causing a large crack, and loudly demanded that its middle-aged driver step out of the car.

A young female passenger then got out of the car to talk, only to be hit by the man, according to the witness.

The driver and passenger reported the assault to the police after the incident.

According to the driver’s statement, the attacker blocked the car with his motorbike before stomping on the car’s windshield for unknown reasons.

He neither knew the man nor recalled having been involved in any collision with his motorbike prior to the assault.

The male attacker then left on his motorbike once officers arrived at the scene.
