Batam = Teochew kampong, this type of food, many many....

Lau Hia,

talk about it...until now I really dun know where to makan teo chew muay in Batam.....quick quick recommend few easy to find places leh...we go together maybe wednesday dinner..ai mai? ...we don't go the BBQ since they up the price...

Most if not all resort style places will be empty during the weekdays, so if you are more into the club or karaoke type of actions, then Waterfront City and also Nongsa will always be in your eyes, some dead places.
FYI, those places or activities like Cable Ski and swimming pools in both Harris and Holiday Inn, will be packed with weekend visitors.

Almost all roads in Batam are shitty from day 1, but some consolation now, they are repairing them in big scale, only hope that the new roads will last longer, otherwise my 18 inc rims and low profile tires will sufferrrrr....!!!

Lastly, if you couldn't be bothered with the type of activities in Waterfront City, please don't have to call it a dead place cos there is still life for people who are into those kind of fun. Anyway, Batam is just an small island with nothing much to shout about, but there are still a little bit for every type of fun.

But of course BTMan, we are in a family-fun forum instead of Sammyboy. So why would i wanna bother about family activities instead of vice.

Probably the only one activity there that would make me fork out Rp30,000-40,000 for a taxi is the Go-Kart which isn't in the best of conditions. Other than that, u will not see me there. To me it's pretty much dead and that's my opinion.

PS : ATV = All Terrain Vehicle
Those 4 wheeled motorbikes they use for trails in jungles. I had loads of fun on them in Thailand's jungles......

Ok, you know where is siang malam?
Along that row of shophouses, there are 2 teochew muah makan places, 1 just few shophouses away from Crown and the other, already there since day 1 set foot on Batam, Bubur Jakarta, both are open till very late nite, like 3-4am... Sometimes after too much whisky, I would stop over for some hot porridge to wake me up before I took the long drive home...

Now I remember ... there's 1 shop house which sells TCM located very near to former Rashita Hotel ... is that the 1 called Bubur Jakarta.

Only had the TCM once in Batam, and that time was super high, my darling brought me there 1 ... we ate what 'kiam' there, sekarang pun tak ingat liao
