Taking Jetstar this year to hong kong tax is $78
But 01-01-2009, the tax has been is increased to $85
Return tax is $92.
Singapore airline only charge tax $120 return.

Taking Jetstar this year to macau tax is $101
But 01-01-2009, the tax has been is increased to $108

WTF, petrol price drop and instead of reducing tax, it has increased it instead.

that's strange ... the macau tkt i booked on 28th Oct (first day of promotion) for march trip .. tax was at $97 SIN-MFM and $100 MFM-SIN ..

no special discount ... onli early bird lar ..

actually jetstar always make mistakes in their online booking ..
so when that happen, make good use of it ..

i think they screw up the tax rate on my previous trip too ..

Even Tiger Airways has slightly increased their taxes.

Don't think it's a mistake in their online booking system. Tiger Airways also follow suit with the tax increase.

reason becoz they have bought the crude oil price at high price earlier ..
so even if crude oil prices is down now .. they still have to charge u higher ..

after this round, i believe the tax will go down ...

SIA can lower the fuel charges mah.
Dun tell me Tiger buy more oil than SQ meh ?
I believe SQ stockpile is far more than Tiger and dun forget, SQ is the parent company holding most of the shares.

I think tiger/jetstar hedge crude oil price with the bank.
So they lan lan now when the price plunge down.

SIA did buy more fuel than Tiger but SIA have more planes to fly than Tiger and SIA get a better discount becoz they r a bigger buyer ...
Though SQ is the parent company that doesn't mean they have to look after them .. in business, it doesn't work this way ...
both airline have different account book .. and like u said, SQ is just a shareholder not owner ...

Not only that. It have some ticket to SZ, macau, GZ, Hong Kong. One way only cost below $90 ringgit.

However, very limited seat.
Too bad, timing too far and LCCT Airport too far as well.

To shenzhen tax = 85+95 = 180

Previously is 122 + 145 = 267
