I will be in Hsinchu quite a bit, since May till early next year, working on some projects in the Science Park, and sad to say, beside work, it's super boring there.

Hi, just came back from Taiwan. I was in Taipei for 3 days and then spend 2 days in Kao Shiong. For those bro going to Kao Shiong, I was told that there isn't any happening places around.

I went to Cash Box Karaoke with my colleagues, and then at 2am, a male colleague and I wanted to check out the night scenes in Kao Shiong. My colleague is a local Taiwanese based in Taipei. So he asked around and the taxi driver took us to a KTV and he called the manager to come down to convince us to go into the KTV, we asked for the price and he quoted 3,000 for 90 mins, and everything goes. We decided to check it out later so we went to a so called pole dancing joint. We were recommened Yes and Crazy Hourse, we decided on the earlier. Once I step in to the joint and saw the gals, I immediately told my colleague that they are trans, so he asked the waiter and the fxxker told us there were gals. It was really dark, so I told my colleague since we are there just have a drink and see how it goes. So we sat down and immediately two trans approached us, I immediately used my limited Thai language to reject them, they were very shocked. Anyway, my colleague started to talk to another male customer beside our table and he found out that Kao Shiong is not as happening as Taipei, and also Crazy Hourse is also full of trans. When we told him about the KTV that the cab driver recommended, he said lucky we did not go as it is a waste of time. He said that the gals will strip but only for less than 2 or 3 minutes. He said that Kao Shiong is too strict in terms of night enterntainment.

So I hope this helps for those bros who are heading to Kao Shiong.

I am currently living in Kaohsiung. I've been here for 4 months and have limited cash so I'm not an expert on the p4p scene. Plus, I don't speak Chinese. Dating scene isn't so bad except that most girls are slightly unrealistic in their expectations. Here are the places I've recorded.

Show Clubs (YES and Crazy Horse):
Both are reported to have ladyboys with Crazy Horse somewhat catering in that direction and YES having fewer. At YES, the lap dances are 100nt. I hear it is also hard to get the girls out of YES. Crazy horse in next to the 85 floor Splendor building, and Yes is just south of Central Park.

Discos (Dreams, Lamp, Private Party)
Younger crowd fills these spaces. Finding a working girl is limited but supposedly its there. I don't think these places are good hunting grounds for them. Look for older (not 18) girls wearing clothes that more resemble lounge wear than club wear and try not to get slapped when you ask "how much." Good points are tons of skinny girls in bikinis that aren't too hard to get for ONS. Although, I've only been able to get phone numbers on the day and arrange the ONS later. But then again, I have time to wait. All three are around the Sanduo Shopping Distrct. Oh, they are all-you-can-drink and very dark so just a warning the girls look much in the club than out. Still stunners though. Talk to the hired dancers, Taiwanese guys don't have the balls to do it so they are pretty lonely.

Nightclubs/Dancehalls (Shangri La, Random Chinese names)
This is where you will see the majority of the freelancer scene. Not too bad in quality. Pretty much easy to find a girl and then take her back to your place. Shangri La on the corner of Jhongshan and the first road south of WuFu.

Massage Places
I've found two types of massage places and I've walked into quite a few. There are legit ones and ones with unattractive women. Like the previous poster, Kaohsiung seems a little bit too strict and thus any on-the-premise sites are probably the first to go. The old rules was if the curtains are drawn its offers extras, but I'm going to say if there's a storefront, its probably legit or so they say. Anything on higher floors improves your chances. There's one on the 4th floor on the corner of Wufu and Chengong. The huge 1st floor one is legit.

Barbershops
Either there's been a crackdown or I haven't the eye to find these places. I'm sure they exist but all I see is legit.

Momo Tea
You go, pay a girl to pour tea while you touch her anywhere. It exist, but I can't find it. Any hints?

Love Hotels and Touts
You check in and then in a short wait you get a call asking if you want a girl. The ST rate for the room is cheap and the girls are usually 2000-4000nt. Or you find a tout who will take you to either a love hotel or an apartment block and you may or may not have to pay a cheap room fee. Girls are the same regardless and you can probably always negotiate less than 3000nt for a good looking Vietnamese girl and around 3000nt for a Chinese. They give you limited time though. I've had good experiences except I can't manage to get them "not" to give me a girl with a huge tits. Good thing, the last one happened to be the best tits I've ever had on a girl. They bring them in one by one (takes a while for each) and you can reject or not. Quality is 7ish. Love hotels are found on Cisian, Bade, Jiangou, and Jioru roads and the perpendicular roads between them. You can tell because they either say love hotel or they show pictures of their rooms outside. I heard finding one with a KTV in the same building improves the level of quality. Touts can be found by walking on Cisian and Bade or more frequently the canal road between Bade and Jiangou. Around the train station on those roads is a good place to be noticed.

KTVs
Varies widely. You can find some conversation only KTVs and then you can find some fully nude ones. Expensive in that you pay for the initial KTV time, plus if you take a girl out you pay compensation time, plus the girls fee. Girls are usually brought in 1 by 1, or more if you have more people in the room with you. Quality rises with the cost. Most KTVS have doormen you can ask about what you can/can't do and prices. You get what you pay for. I'm pretty sure you can find the hottest girls here as you see them sometimes talking into those places, but I haven't the cash to go to a real high class one. Around downtown and there are some nices ones on the first road North of Minghua on Bo-Ai.

Regular Bars
Not really worth the time. Bars in Kaohsiung are in the decline and girls either work all the time or have boyfriends already. I don't think you'll find many working girls sitting at the bars either because beer is so expensive and bars are usually filled with regulars. One exception is the Pig and Whistle which was known for its ability to attract girls interested in meeting foreigners and its dance floor upstairs. It went into a decline and now its coming back, but not so much on the girls front.

Hostess Bars
There are plenty of these bars on WuFu 4th road. Drinks are usually 100nt+ and lady drinks are 300nt. You still have to negotiate with the girls and you'll be surprised on how much they charge. But because its the bar district there are plenty of guys willing to pay the high prices. Quality is poor in my opinion: older, more weight, and not as pretty.

Spicy Pool/Billiards
You can play pool with a girl and/or have her rack your balls. Chances that her boyfriend is a wanna-be gangster who probably hangs out at the same pool hall is high. Went to one and all the boys were only interested in playing pool than the girls. What's the point of a spicy pool place anyway? Plenty near the railroad station.

Betelnuts girls
I thought Taiwan would be filled with scantily clad women in glass boxes on the roadside selling these nuts. Well, there are, but not in Kaohsiung. It's middle aged behind counters within the city. Quite a disappointment.

The Beaches
There are too beaches in Kaohsiung. There are more date places than anything.

Random places
It's easy to find a girlfriend here. I've never seen so many available girls. Do Taiwanese boys not know how to ask a girl out???

Other tips: Finding good, cheap, working girls sucks in Kaohsiung.

Haha bro how have you been? I just got back from CP about two weeks ago. I went to CP then to Taipei. Taipei is definately more happening. As a matter of fact, I am planning a trip to CP mid December, can you shift? This month I dont think can make it, next week to Philipines, then after that to Malaysia, and end of the month to Frankfurt. Are you back in Aussie now? Did you get the job in Sillypore?
