Best advice I ever had was being told "DO NOT EVER GET MARRIED IN SINGAPORE!"
You are only 24. There is a long journey ahead of you. Humans are emotional creatures. Should the day comes when you meet a fantastic gal that you wanna keep by your side forever or if she requests to settle down, would you give her up? Men in their 20s and 30s think differently, btw. As we grow up, our priorities change and outlook in life changes too. Most important is to be happy in whatever you do.

I suppose your advice stems from the unfair Women's Charter?

When the rules are so biased and unfair favouring heavily towards the other side.... why should we play the game? Only fools play this game and get married.

That's where you are wrong.
The advice came from my uncle and my father fully agrees with him.
In grandparents time.... they were match made and marry for security.
In parents time..... they marry for love and security.
Our present generation..... treat marriage as a business venture and try to screw the other by being as mercenary as she can.

My mum works in a law firm... in her 20+ years as a secretary to a lawyer she has done countless of divorce cases. She also agrees with my decision to remain single for the rest of my life and tells me if I should decide to change my mind in future..... to leave all my assets with her or my siblings before tying the knot.

His case are such there are plenty of assets...

In many cases marriage involved loving couples who wanted to start families and have nothing except career. So if both spouses contribute to the housing, child education, etc...then really women charter have no real advantages...

Many parents worth taking risks because kids are more important than money...if any child successful and made plenty of money then the parents will be deemed successful...

You are right...women charter over-rides pre-nup or marriage contract...

only thing is know how transfer assets before marriage for those worried...

Prenups that contradicts the Women's Charter will not be upheld and the Women's Charter takes precedence over it. So essentially a prenup in Singapore is bullshit and a worthless piece of paper.

Come over to Malaysia and get married here. There is no such thing as a Women's Charter here.
