walk-in rate r normally not negotiatable unless there r many rooms available ... if u r going on fri and sat .. then u r lukcy if u can get a room if no advance booking is make ...

as posted, u better make sure u have a proper visa pasted on your passport be trying to enter PRC. I'm not sure if a visa is also required to go HK now, though I was there last week. HK is also used as 1 of the Ports of Entries for the Olympics. But as I said, I have no problems / no questions asked at Immigration cos I have all the proper travel documents.

U dont want yr holiday to be spoilt by being rejected entry into anywhere, and then waiting for the next flight / ferry to depart.

wah bro 84gunner, the visa regime extends to HK/Macau also ah? kind of worried leh because i intend to visit ZH/HK/Macau for this trip and i only got a single-entry 60 day visa. does that mean if my first entry point is ZH, i can travel internally to HK and Macau, all considered 1 entry? from what i know, Macau and HK have different immigration criteria, and singaporeans dun need visa. ?

HK n Macau are visa free for Singaporean......Nothing has change.

Yr single entry China visa. Good for yr one time stay in ZH...... U can go round n round HK n Macau without any visa.

If u're going during the Aug period, i will advice u to skip ZH.. Cause a lot of gals have gone back home liao or went on long break becos of this yan da in ZH.. Dun think there is much to look out for over there.

If u like KTV, then u can go CP.. only 2 hrs ride. many bros over there.. u can going to the CP thread n ask for advise. Many helpful bros over there. Or if u're into sauna, CP also ok at abt 400-700rmb.. also comes with not bad services. But ZH is cheaper.. only 200+ to 300+ u can get liao..

I've never been to CP. As u mention from ZH to CP 2 hrs ride. If i'm in ZH le 2-3 person, where can i get transport to CP and wat will the costs be?

Dun worry Bro....just confirm with friends from Zhuhai...the KTV there is not close during Olympic period...u still can get gals from KTV but they r more careful abt letting the gals "overnite" with customers...
Beside the KTV...u still can get gals from LHL (but not so many as b4)...if come to the worst still can go to the disco or "酒吧街" to party & get to know the local meimeis...

anyway, now is really not a good time to go ZH. very few mm around. many make use of this time to go home, coz very few taiwanese come this month. and plus they dun dare to go ON. actually strict rules applies to everywhere in china. business still goes on, just harder to locate and not as fun lor...

yes, bro, i totally agree with u. for me, over these years, i have only taken once, a mm from LHL, just to try and get the experience. never overnight with them, coz anything can happen thru the night. i consider myself lucky that when i started cheonging in ZH, i was taught the "right way". my taiwan big bros have given me enuff advises and stories.

have u heard abt hk guys paying ktv gals dollar to dollar with hk notes ?
it means ... 800HK$ instead of 800rmb ... that's abt 15% discount ...

After my 13 days trip in GZ, CP, CA and ZH ...
i like to share some points to fellow cheongsters ...
i might not be right but this is my feedbacks ...

ZH have more varities in entertainment compare with the others ...
u can sit and drink along LHL, 酒吧街 .. many KTV's, Saunas and SPA's ..
good shopping area especially at ZuHai Port Plaza near gongbei ...
But it's not a good time to go to ZH during summer time ..
the weather is too hot and humid ...
heat is too unbearable while sitting in LHL and 酒吧街 ...
but this is a good place to sit ard and chit chat with friends and meimeis ..
Best time to go: autumn and winter

CP is a good place in terms of KTV's, Saunas and Spa ...
Inexpensive good hotels at stragedy location ...
JYTY in CP is a must for all cheongsters to go there at least once to experience the culture shock ...
Shopping in CP is rather disappointed compare with ZH ...
Weather is not an issue here cos there's no place along the street for u to hang out ... most of the time, u'll be in sauna or spa in the afternoon and by nitefall, u'll be in KTV ...
Best time to go: Anytime

CA is famous for it naked and daring KTV's ....
u can have more fun than the usual KTV session here compare with ZH and CP ..
but IMHO, the quality of gals are not as good as CP and ZH ...
Similiar to CP, this is not a place for shopping ...
u have to travel to Humen (abt 30 mins away) for shopping ... and most of the items r suitable for the locals ...
Weather is also not an issue here cos there's no place along the street for u to hang out ... u'll hit the sauna or spa in the afternoon and come nitefall, u'll be having fun in the KTV ...
Best time to go: Anytime

There r many shopping areas in GZ ... like Beijing Lu and many shopping centers along Lianhe Lu ..
we didn't have any chance to cheong in GZ cos our gals r with us thus i cannot comment much ...
But one should visit 大浪淘沙 .. it's a relaxing place for massage ...
It's definately not a good time to visit GZ during summer time ...
weather is too hot and humid ... U can literally feel the heat biting into ur skin while walking on the street ....
Air conditioning in buildings r not cold enough to feel comfortable ...
It's advisable to move ard during nitefall as the weather is cooler but one have to be alert and exercise extreme cautious walking on the street ...
Best time to go: Autumn, winter and spring ...

Public transportation is not a problem in these areas ...
lots of cabs are on the street though it seem less in GZ ...
traffic situation is also bad in GZ ... they have the highest car population compare with the others ... no motorcycles r allowed in GZ central area ..

Depending on one needs, expectations and demands ....
we cannot conclude which area is the best place to be for all ...

But i will definately be back to CP and ZH frequently .....
