I have no doubt we will finish fourth. I will say at this point, thrashed away with 10 men by our greatest rivals and the eternal scum, and with our red carded player facing an extended ban FFS, that we are better now than last season. We have already scored 105 goals compared to 90 the whole of last season. so we are on the right track addressing our weak point the last few seasons |

Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Plus Benyanoun give us some hat tricks against lower teams. Our strike force is better cos of Torres. Kuyt and Crouch and Voronin remain wasteful and uninspired. All we need is an injury to Torres to know that our strike force hasn't improved beyond Torres. We should buy some decent strikers to complement Torres.
Not sure if you guys know but we can watch Liverpool TV on channel 116 on starhub at certain hours. |

Mascherano charged !!
Liverpool were tonight left to consider their response after midfielder Javier Mascherano was charged with improper conduct. The Football Association issued the charge this afternoon in response to Mascherano's reaction to his dismissal from Sunday's 3-0 Premier League defeat by Manchester United. The Argentinian midfielder had to be dragged from the pitch by coaching staff and colleagues, after being shown a red card in the 45th minute by Steve Bennett. The referee had awarded a second yellow following his protests against a caution issued to Liverpool striker Fernando Torres. Reds boss Rafael Benitez admitted Mascherano made a mistake in refusing to leave the pitch but felt his sending-off was harsh. The club has until 6pm tomorrow to respond, with the case scheduled to be heard by a regulatory commission on Friday April 4. Mascherano can accept or deny the charge and also has the option of requesting a personal hearing. The 23-year-old is currently serving a one-match suspension for the dismissal, ruling him out of Sunday's Merseyside derby against Everton at Anfield. But if the charge of improper conduct is upheld then he will also miss Premier League games against Arsenal on April 5 and Blackburn eight days later. However, any ban would exclude the Champions League quarter-final first and second legs against Arsenal on April 2 and 9. A statement released by the FA said: 'Liverpool's Javier Mascherano has today been charged with improper conduct. 'The charge relates to his reaction towards referee Steve Bennett after being sent off against Manchester United on Sunday 23 March.' Benitez had reacted to Mascherano's red card by demanding showdown talks with referees' chief Keith Hackett. The Spaniard told the club website: 'I would like to speak to Keith Hackett, because it is important that we find a solution. 'At Liverpool, we respect the game; we respect the rules and we respect the referee - and it is important to remember that Mascherano was the first Liverpool player to be sent off in the league this season.' -soccernet

Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
took me a few days to digest the defeat to the scums.after watching the vid again.we were ok for the 30 mins, then we conceded the 1st goal.utd had a game plan they knew reina was poor on crosses, mind u utd did not play with a out n out forward.our defence did not protect him enough, then masch got send off,i tot the ref cld have use abit of commonsense cos the 1 st foul did not merit a yellow card but then i guess he deserved to go.with 1 man dwn we found did difficult, wat i saw of the players body language was LET S GET IT OVER WITH IT FAST.we did not play at all in the 2nd half.as for the 2nd goal frm the corner god only noes why alonso was marking ronaldo, every one noes he s a gd header of the ball, i can t believe why carra or skertl marked him they surely wld have put him off, again i wld like to state utd did not play with a centreforwad.the team made all the wrong desicions.we were lucky it cld have been 5 or 6.ouch it hurt me badly nvr liked to lose to the scums.i just take it that pool had a bad day at the office.we will be back against everton n arsenal in the champs league for sure.no need to sack the players jus cos they had a bad day at the office.long live rafa n the reds.

But wrt Alonso, remember we don't man mark. The player at the near post simply didn't clear the ball. I'm sure Masch will be found guilty, given the politics ongoing on now, we might as well not appeal and take the charge. Lucas will have to come in but he's not the same kind of player. It's a blow with the big games coming up and we need to deal with it. |

Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
I do blame Reina for unsettling the defence with his uncertainty. He is obviously looking into a very bright sun in the first half yet he doesn't have the sense to wear a cap! I think he lost sight of the ball many times due to the bright sun.
Mascherano is disappointing. His big match temperament is really suspect. While we may say the referee is harsh, Mascherano is dumb enough to put himself in a position where the referee can give a harsh judgement. He was scolding the referee quite frequently with 'Fuck Off' after the first yellow card. His opponent for the match isn't Man U, it's the referee. When he harassed the referee, he's doing it for his own ego while ignoring the duties required by the team. I feel we should use area marking for set pieces against Man U. How many times have they scored against us by making diagonal runs that cross the areas controlled by different players, thus causing confusion in our defence? It hurts we have been exploited on this by them so many times and yet we persist. This Man U team has enough talented players to beat us in our system of area marking, unlike other lesser teams. For this match, Rafa's a bit strange too. Normally he's by the byline, shouting instructions and guiding the team, calming players down. It's obvious that we are struggling to match Man U's tactics yet he decided to sit in the dugout and sulk. |

Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Hi people, please watch channel 116 on SCV if you do subscribe. It shows Liverpool TV direct from Anfield. Got chiobu named Claire hosting the programs. got Call-in segment, Just watched the top 10 goals from 2004/05, interviews with Rafa etc. Very varied and interesting
A documentary on Shankly was also aired. which is impt for guys like me, who are born after he retired. Every true liverpool fan will have read abt his comments that 'Football is more impt than life and death' but to hear Shankly express it in his forceful manner, now that's a different experience. If you are a regular reader of Liverpoolfc.tv: Official Web Site, the program shows the latest interviews that u read on the webiste. They will type out the comments and post on the web but nothing beats hearing it. Unfortunately, we don't get to see it on channel 27. Darn... |
