Yes, in fact they cant win us in 3 striaght games..

Read the Newpaper today..
All the say is about how we got lucky over the 2 penalty decision and how well Arsenal is playing...

Seriously, other than the 1st leg, I think we did quite well over the next 2 games...

Could have and should have won in the BPL, if Voronin can finish better..

We did real well after we equalised in the 2nd leg and we doing ok for the 2nd half...

Shouldnt our 'never-say-die' attitude be recommeded as well?

Put it this way, Arsenal play entertaining and beautiful football but also end up empty handed this season.. No disrespect but dont think Arsenal got any chance of winnnng BPL this season, unless they beat Manure this weekend..

Newpaper in spore are full of shit...
the best is to see the game with our very own eyes and judge it with our very own brain...

after many many years comparing the facts stated by our own local journalists to the club's official website...
they are just wanting to do their job to have stories put up at every corner of the sports pages everyday so that we will buy the newspaper itself...
really full of shits....... (wondering are they really were / ex soccer players?)
sometimes bo pian...
need to buy but once i saw shit(s) written aiming towards my beloved club, strait away skip the pages...
really really bo pian...
true enuff...the facts/stories posted by bro kingeros and from other bros in this thread are better stated than the local journalists...

as a supporter of our own fav club,
the best is to read and hear from the club's own official website...
other than that---> damn the local journalists....(imho)

Besides the website, you can also watched our official TV programme on channel 116 on SCV. It should come free with your SCV package. I'm watching Rafa talk abt the CL match as I type. Reading the interviews on the website is nice but if you can hear how the words are articulated, it will be even nicer.

Guys, let's move on from the discussion sparked by bro linnaohia1. It's difficult and emotional for Arsenal fans to lose to us in the way they did. I strongly believe he wrote it while still feeling hurt and emotional over the loss. If Liverpool were to lose to Arsenal (with a real penalty denied in the 1st leg and conceding 2 goals in the last 7 mins after scoring what looks to be the killer goal), we will be as emotional too.

On a separate note, just to update you guys:

Dear friend,

Work is continuing on our quest to bring fan ownership of Liverpool FC, and I wanted to give you a quick update, as well as ask for your help.

Our formal proposal to enable ShareLiverpoolFC to be an investment vehicle to enable us to bid for the club is on the verge of approval by the Financial Service Authority (FSA). This is a complex, yet necessary step in the practical requirements needed, and we thank our specialist lawyers, Cobbetts, for their work on our behalf.

The heart and soul of Liverpool FC rests in L4, but Liverpool FC would not be the global force it is today without the support we have attracted all over the world. So we continue to take the concept of the fans owning the club to our international fan-base around the world. Members of the ShareLiverpoolFC steering group have been meeting with key contacts from Norway, the US, Republic of Ireland and elsewhere, and I myself have just returned from Japan, where I was able to promote the concept on Japanese national TV and radio.

In the UK, we continue to attract national and local media coverage, though we need to keep our message in people's minds as the saga of Hicks and Gillett's ownership rumbles on, and DIC await in the wings. Only fan ownership can bring the club management run in the interests of the supporters and the community.

This is where you can come in. We'd like you to get on the websites and forums and talk about ShareLiverpoolFC, and the concept of fan ownership. Where people are discussing the ownership of the club on phone-ins, please get on the phone and talk about it.

We're serious about this project - that's why we're taking the time to get it done properly. You can help us keep the momentum going. Tell your friends, and get involved - let's do this together.

Best wishes

Rogan Taylor,

On behalf of the Share Liverpool Steering Group
Share Liverpool FC

Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

From Soccernet:
Co-owner Hicks demands Parry resignation

Liverpool's season of boardroom turmoil took another astonishing turn today when co-owner Tom Hicks asked for the resignation of chief executive Rick Parry.

It is believed that a letter arrived at Anfield today - just 48 hours after Liverpool's triumphant passage into the Champions League semi-finals - demanding Parry's departure.

Parry is currently in London at a Premier League meeting but he has been made aware of the communication and is expected to refuse to quit by return of post.

This shock move from the Dallas-based co-owner is just another twist in the embarrassing saga over control of the club, which reached a peak last month when talks between Hicks and Dubai International Capital broke down.

Hicks was in London last week and watched both the Liverpool matches against Arsenal at the Emirates.

But on Tuesday, Hicks was back in Dallas watching his Texas Rangers' baseball team while co-owner George Gillett was shown on TV world-wide sitting next to Parry in the Liverpool directors' box.

They were watching boss Rafael Benitez's team beat Arsenal 4-2 to progress into another semi-final showdown with Chelsea later this month.

And this current development does nothing for the stability of the club ahead of Benitez's attempts to reach a third European Cup final in four years.

Gillett's son Foster was also in attendance on Tuesday, as was Hicks' son Tom Jnr, both sons also being directors of the club.

And it is also believed that Liverpool fans groups have received e-mails telling them that Hicks wants Parry out.

However, with the club ownership split 50-50 between the two Americans, Hicks would not have been able to have got sanction for Parry's dismissal, hence the letter received at Anfield today.

Hicks was believed to have been enraged by Parry's interview recently on BBC Five Live in which the chief executive pleaded with both co-owners to end the war between them and come to an agreement that would allow the club to move forward.

It was Parry who was largely involved in bringing Gillett to the club 18 months ago, with the American bringing in Hicks for financial muscle to get the deal through.

At that point DIC believed they were on the brink of buying former chairman David Moores' majority holding, only for the deal to collapse at the last minute when Moores - now life vice-president and still a board member - changed his mind.

Since then DIC have patiently worked towards a deal to buy out both Americans. It is believed that Gillett has agreed to sell his stake, but refuses to sell those shares to Hicks.

However, Hicks spent time last week in London trying to raise capital to buy Gillett's shares and to re-finance loans on his own sports empire.

He will soon be expected to come up with further loans to fund the building of Liverpool's new stadium.

The relationship between Gillett and Hicks has spectacularly broken down, with Parry at times finding himself in the middle trying to run the club effectively on a day-to-day basis.

Now Hicks' camp clearly believe that Parry is siding with Gillett as the uproar rumbles on, which has prompted the request for his resignation.

The Gillett-Hicks feud has prompted DIC to publicly declare they will make no attempt to make a fresh bid for Liverpool until the two 'sort out their problems.

DIC chief executive Sameer Al Ansari admitted the consortium would 'still love to own' Liverpool and will 'continue to be interested' in the club.

But, in an interview with Arabian Business magazine, to be published this Sunday, he said: 'You have two partners who do not see eye to eye. And we decided that we pull out completely.

'Let them sort out their problems.'

He added: 'We will continue to be interested and would love to own the club but we are not going to put ourselves in a difficult situation where we make the investment but we have no control over the destiny of the club and we cannot influence the success of the club.

'Unfortunately, the terms that have been put on the table do not allow us to do that.'

I just hate this. There just doesn't seem to be any light at the end of the tunnel for us. I really hope it will not affect our transfer budget for next season.

Am watching LFC TV now. It seems Michael Essien is suspended for the first leg of our CL semi-final. The semi-final is also being hosted at a good time for us. If Chelsea is still in the hunt for the EPL title by the 22nd April, things will look very interesting.

22nd April: CL semi-final 1st leg,
26th April Chelsea VS Man U (EPL),
30th April: CL semi-final 2nd Leg.

Steve Finnan
Born: April 20, 1976

Birthplace: Limerick, Republic of Ireland
Height: 6' 1''
Weight: 12.0 Pos: D
Age: 31
GP 20 | G 0 | A 2 (2007/08 Premier League)

Finnan has become a mainstay of the Liverpool team since joining from Fulham for a fee of around £3.5million in the summer of 2003.
Though he struggled to impress under Gerard Houllier in his first season, he was clearly rated by Rafael Benitez when he took charge in the summer of 2004.

The Republic of Ireland international became a vital player in the Premiership and in Europe as Liverpool surprisingly won the Champions League in 2005.

Finnan began his career in non-league football with Welling United and, as a 19-year-old, signed for Birmingham City in a £100,000 deal in the summer of 1995.

He struggled to breakthrough at St Andrews, making just 22 appearances before moving to Notts County. He originally joined the Meadow Lane club on loan in March 1996, but the club came back in to sign him for £300,000 in October of that year.

Some fine performances soon had Kevin Keegan interested, and in November 1998 Finnan joined the Fulham revolution for £600,000. He made his debut in a 2-1 home win against Chesterfield, and scored his first goal in a 4-0 hammering of Blackpool.

The Irishman's reputation continued to grow, a versatile player who can play virtually anywhere on the pitch, and before long he won full international honours with the Republic of Ireland.

Finnan was one of the outstanding players in Fulham's rise to the Premiership, and was unfazed when mixing it with the big boys.

He travelled to the 2002 World Cup with his country and again impressed as the Republic went out on penalties to Spain in the Second Round. He also scored in the fateful shoot-out.

As the 2002/03 season came to a close, Finnan's transfer to Liverpool was one of the game's worst kept secrets, and in June 2003 he made the switch for an undisclosed fee, believed to be £3.5million.

He made 209 appearances for Fulham, scoring seven goals.

Finnan was carrying a knock when he moved to Anfield, but made his debut in a 2-1 home defeat at Chelsea. He was also ruled out in March for six weeks with a shoulder injury.

He came of age under Benitez in 2004/05 emerging as an important player as Liverpool scooped the European Cup in Istanbul. Finnan started the final against AC Milan but unfortunately picked up an injury and was substituted at half time.

The right-back faced competition for his place in January 2006 when Liverpool strengthened their defence with the signings of Jan Kromkamp and Jose Miguel Gonzalez Rey Josemi.

But Finnan's solid defensive work and eagerness to attack down the flank proved too good for his challengers, who were forced to move away from Liverpool to get regular first team football.

Finnan is famously the only player to have played in every English football league, from the Conference to the Premiership, and it is a mark of the player's determination that he has won the FA Cup, the Champions League and played at the World Cup finals.

Info from soccernet. Finnan will be 32 this April. As players age, their recovery from each match slows down. It's time to buy some cover for Finnan. Anyway, may not be Rafinha too. Who knows? May be Bentley. Bentley's not signing a new contract at Blackburn until he is sure Blackburn can offer him European soccer.

Good post bro, agreed that age is catching up with him, and it also seems like this season, he is not playing as much......not sure is it due to any injuries....but have always feel he is a good RB for us. Guess we will need strong backup, even if Finnan can play few more season, just in case he got some knocks, touch wood.

Well, I wont deny in the 1st leg, gunners got a good penalty case, but as you said here, they can't beat us over 3 straight games, meaning, they can pass, but not brutal nor clinical with the final ball.

anyway looking forward to this weekend home game and also the 2 matches against chelsea.
