Re: Manchester United's Headliners, Articles and Rumours

2-1 win for the Red Devils

Has been a long time since I saw them playing with such passion and heart…. Finally seeing the Manchester United I know…

Even Fred looks like a much improved player… chasing down every ball and fighting for the team

another home win and another goal for rashford

rashford was selfish yesterday, wasted a lot of shots, luckily he scored one to continue his hot form

man u were in control until casemiro red card, he really shouldn't put his hands on opponent's neck, and more players on both sides should've been booked for the fracas. the momentum was lost and man u had to endure a nervy 20mins. man u gotta be more clinical, kill the game off and not let the opponent back into the game

great defending by martinez thru out the game

credit to WW for his tireless running and pressing, despite not scoring

sabitzer seems another shrewd loan signing, an aggressive ball winner snapping at opponents' heels. with casemiro suspension, looks like he will be thrusted into action and partner fred

Re: Manchester United's Headliners, Articles and Rumours

A hard fought win....ETH was sweating on his bald head at the last 10 minutes.
The referee makes it even more exciting giving 7 minutes of injury time.

My thoughts -

Casemiro --- why why why?? I know he wanted to protect his countryman Antony....should have been more logical. But looking at VAR, Jordan Ayew was also seen going at Fred's throat, but very quick.
Once again, the value of Casemiro was shown as the entire team panic and the defence was in limbo.

Shaw / Fred / L Martinez --- Very good showing these 3. Martinez was called to work doubly hard after Casemiro's red.

Sabitzer --- was called into action last 10 minutes and I think he did well. He showed what he is capable of in the 89th minute, beautifully dislodging the ball off a Palace player (not sure who) and making a through pass to set Rashford on a breakaway. All in one fluid motion. Even the commentator say "Wow".
Unfortunately the referee blow for foul. Should Casemiro's 3 match ban stands, Sabitzer will have chance to really show his class.

ETH --- maybe should have sub in Sabitzer on immediately after Casemiro's red. I read news he is also training Lindelof to be DMC which is a good move given Lindelof used to be a ball playing midfielder.

Good showing by the boys and congrats for the 3 points.
The Red Devils had moved up to 3rd place. A UCL spot looks attainable.

Yah, man. Shaw was chosen MOTM by many platforms. But my vote for the night goes to Martinez.

Really expect to see more of Sabitzer. He looks very in control with his reading of the game despite only 10+ minutes and timed his interception well.
He is down the pecking order in Bayern and he will want to prove himself and earn a possible permanent move to Man U.
Who knows, ETH might not need to think of Frenkie DJ anymore.

***********************************************

Erik ten Hag explains why Man Utd signed Marcel Sabitzer over four other midfielders.

"Ten Hag explained on Wednesday night after United sealed their place in the EFL Cup final with a win over Nottingham Forest: "I know the player (Sabitzer) already a long time from [RB] Salzburg. He performed fantastically, so I expect that he will do the same here.
"I think he has a great attitude; he is at the right age, and I am sure this opportunity will motivate him greatly and he will perform strongly for us."

i have a feeling: perhaps palace baited man u into retaliation (dirty gamesmanship), antony is still 年少气盛 si-ginna, his attempted retaliation against scarpa during the EFL cup semi 2nd leg was noted by vieira (dirty player during his arsenal days), just that casemiro came into the situation and had his hands on opponent's neck. palace tried to level the odds, the ploy worked and got a player sent off but they couldn't make the numerical advantage count. seems like antony is easily baited due to his age/character, ETH gotta iron that out

casemiro suspended for next 3 matches, home vs leeds, away at leeds, home vs leicester. i think man u have enough quality to see off the opposition at home, a draw at leeds will be good enough. casemiro absence will definitely be felt as man u played with more confidence and less nervy with him on field

retraining lindelof to DMC is a good idea, with injuries to VDB and eriksen, lindelof as DMC can provide extra cover. but hor, possible to retrain maguire as emergency targetman?

Me think so too.. at least 1 of the CP players shd be red carded too to be fair becos both teams r at similar fault ..shoving n struggling among themselves...VAR is always unfair n inconsistent to 1 of the teams...imho, it shd be abolished if they shd still need the on field referee to go to the monitor to check n confirm..

if I m not wrong, VAR themselves hv admitted they made 6 decisions in error this season ...can the results of those 6 matches be reversed ??

Yes, u r right, it was a hard fought win... they all nearly dropped their pants trying to soak up the continous pressure n attacks from the Palace players after Casemiro was sent off in the 70th minute...

as for the 2nd goal by Rashford it was a beautiful move of the team...started by Garnacho's assist, he dashing past some Palace defenders n passing the ball to Shaw who was at the other end of the box who in turn passed the ball to Rashford who was just in front of goal for him to simply tap in

Actually if you watched Match of the Day, they showed other angles where Casemiro is holding Hughes' shirt, and not neck. And shortly after, Casmiro held his hands up after both were away from the melee. The ref was shown a biased angle by the VAR. Another video has also emerged showing them having a hug afterwards, obviously no malice.

Utd is said to be considering an appeal.

As for WW, he seemed to be suffering "Lukaku first touch" syndrome. Gets into promising positions but kept losing the ball. Not surprised he got yanked off and it turned out to be another good sub by ten Hag, as WW's replacement Garnacho was key in setting up the second goal.

No one predicting for tonight Premier League match against Leeds ??...our 4 regular punters ??.. @PaulMerson, @charlienicholas @JonesKnows n @ChrisSutton.. this is ETH's 1st match against this club who is now managerless...

looks like easy meat but beware the sleeping tiger ...anyway read some punters from other sports channel who are predicting a 2-0 win for the Red Devils tonight ...let's see how true is that

True it was 2 goals for them but heard they squandered their chances esp Garnacho n Sabitzer....they were replaced later on....the other new boy WW was anonymous ...fortunately they salvaged a draw thru' their wonderman Rashford his 20th goal this season n 6th consecutive home game n the other by Sancho ....so at least got a point instead of losing all 3...it seems Casemiro absence was felt badly n allowed Leeds to control the midfield

heard it was a bad night for Fred who kept giving the ball away to the opposition players....Leeds scored a very quick fire goal within seconds of the kick off put in by Gnonto an unknown player....ETH better wake himself n his players up thru his selection of his best XI n substitutions like subbing out Fred when he knew he was always giving the ball away n make sure he wins the return match coming sunday or he can kiss the top 4 good bye
