I first went with the 2nd Detachment (Skyhawks) and back almost every year till I RODed in '85.
Been back there again for pleasure cum business eleven times since.

My first time was with the 6th det (F5 and A4 combined) and last one was 35th det.(F5) Too bad Pinatubo spoil everything. I am an armourer, yourself?

Ahha, 6th? I was in the 5th Det on my second stint there. Our paths had crossed, I believe.
I do know many "gunners" of course and one of the more high profile and popular ones is the short Indian bloke named B***. You definately had been acquainted with him.
As for what I do, the "grease monkeys" call my cohorts "fairy hands".

Is the 5th Hunter? If so, then I must have been in the 6th.....and the same as you??? I was with the A4s and had been to the PI Dets from '79 to 84 every year except '82(I think) when I went to Williamtown instead. It's hard to remember the exact dates as the sands of time could have clouded my memories of timelines.....but not of the honeypots; kekeke.

We were sort of buddy-buddy during our times togehter in PI and Down Under, and shared many things together...but not the chix, hahaha. The last I heard of him is that he is back to Sg (he was in the PI for quite a long while after his ROD) and became a tattoo artist.
Another person you most probably know of too is my then trade i/c (in the hanger) whose name sound something like "boobs touch big". He migrated to the States a long time ago, to go into the antique car restoration business.
LBFM? Hmmmmm, the same acronym as the Last Bohemian Field Marshal (Perimeter Road) which was also one of my haunts. Like virtually all the other joints of that era, it's now history.
Talking about the old times sure brings back many memories of the places and people. Wonder where, what and how are all the gals I had bonked those decades ago. Maybe some of the current ones I had are the daughters of some of them, and heaven forbid - mine as well??

Hey Phenom, I was also in Williamtown with the 1st F5 Det in '83 after that I was shuttling between PI and Korat. Last PI det was the 42nd in Oct '90. Our paths have definitely crossed if you are also in the 6th PI. The RSAF then was must more relax and forgiving than now. What trade are you, may I ask? You from the tech 73 batch?
Many of our trade i/cs and WOs have retired and transited into the next career as school OM.
The memories are flooding back as I type this reply. We had our dinner at Peking or Shanghai, supper from Didi's or the roadside barbecue stands. Do you still remember Benji. Bar hopping was great. STs during the week and barfines on the weekends. Sad to hear that all the old joints have closed

Talking about relax; you wouldn't even begin to guess at the enormous amount of liberty we had in the early det.....until some assholes pulled the plug and later dets were prohibited from repeating the hell we raised. Some fine examples were: bringing the chix to barracks every night , 2359 were not in our dictionary then and shoulder length hair were the norm.

My trade? Already told you earlier that I was a "fairy hand". Not a "grease monkey" nor a "gunner" nor a "wire guy". Need I spell it out? You got it right about the '73 but it was mech, not tech.

Peking, Shanghai, City Lunch, Oriental House? Only Peking and City Lunch are still around though I'm not sure of the original owners. The barbeque quarter chickens you were familiar with are now superseded by the whole bird and slabs of belly pork...delicious.

Before PI, he had a sweet Sg gf (actually his original "wife" in everything but name) called Jacqueline whose nick was even tattooed on one of his arms...did you ever noticed that? Didn't I already told you that we were sort of buddy-buddy? I used to go to his home to watch blue movies. He and I went back a long long way...........When we were teens, I used to order from him and his gang what I fancy at the old Plaza Singapura Yaohan and he would supply me exactly what I specified; at half price. That great guy was never caught.Hahaha.

To give you a clue of my identity, I held the record then for the most number of chix bonked in one det: 79 different ones in 90 days. Actually I had more than one per day as I repeated quite a few of them as well. Even the notorious "JohnnyOne Shot" conceded defeat.

Of course I remember, used to bring chicks to the barracks myself. Imagine the looks of some of the shy guys when they saw a philipina bathing in the gents. Ha ha Ha. Used to bonk Thai and Korean wives of the US servicemen too. I think the 2359 thing was started by the 9th det after investigation into the 3 A4 crashes. The flyboys were just as havoc as us techies. Nevertheless was able to go around the curfew by booking in and sneaking out again after all bus service ran till 0200 and taxies are plentiful.
We were banned from going out from Clark during the 34th det when terrorists shot and killed some Americans at Mac Donald's (Dau); but we still manage to bring girls into the base. Talking about Mohamed can't go to the mountain .......
You have given enough clues about yourself and I shall ask some old timers whether they still remember you.
Incidentally, is Johnny Oneshot the same Johnny Buaya?

Of course the Buaya and OneShot are one and the same. During the second Det, I got evicted from my room after two weeks by my mate cos I made him a refugee every nite...even when he was ill. Hahaha. The buaya then offered to share with me and his mate agreed as he and my mate were buddies. The buaya then stayed off-base subsequently and I had the whole room to myself for most of the duration of that Det. Saved a bundle on hotels as I got back a chix practically every night.
