Personally, I think our clean sheets is a result more due to the hard work put in by the defenders esp the right and centre defence than Pepe himself.

Pepe was lucky many times. But, credit to him, he did put up many saves, but also quite a number of boo-boos esp with the high balls. We can't afford these at this level.

He dun seem confident catching crosses and that sometimes caused panic in the defence.

Touch wood, but, I think someday we will get punished through his boo-boos.

Actually Chelski really is no big deal, just a team of millionaires. Liverpool in our current form, some more playing at Anfield will be more than a match for Chelski. Cech may be back, but he will be rusty. Hopefully we will shoot him left, right, centre till he get another concussion, lose his confidence so that their 3rd choice goalie can come back and help the other teams. As for Robben the asshole (simply can't stand his fuck face and running style), let's hope our Anfield fans will give him a warm warm welcome he will not forget.

New Year mah, must have New Year wish right?

But seriously, our chance are much better now. So, 2nd place isn't that too far off. We are just 8 pts behind Chelski and Mourihno said that 6 pts btwn them and MU is nothing. So, we can also do a "Mourihno" and say 8 pts is also no big deal.

Haven't you already given up ... by accepting that only 2nd place is "certainly possible"??

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

PENNANT LEAVES SAM'S PLAN OUT OF SHAPE
David Pleat, The Guardian 4 January 2007

Bolton Wanderers are rarely out-fought but their jaded players were outplayed and had no answer to the inspirational wing play of Jermaine Pennant.

The former Birmingham winger was a revelation at Anfield on Monday. His selection of passes, his movement with and without the ball and his combination play dominated a fine performance from Rafael Benítez's side. For all that Steven Gerrard, running midfield, and Steve Finnan fed him and supported him, it was the enigmatic winger who caught the eye. He showed the quality Liverpool hoped they would get for their £6.7m in the summer.

He was aided by Bolton's inadequacies. The visitors set out with their trusted formation, splitting the front runners El Hadji Diouf, Nicolas Anelka and Kevin Davies, but Liverpool settled quicker and dominated the attacking play with Gerrard and Xabi Alonso supported by the full-backs Finnan and John-Arne Riise.

Bolton's method means any two of their three front men must hold the wide positions - in the first half, Diouf and Davies were full of team responsibility but far too deep. The visitors were happy to defend, relying on their strong defensive duo of Tal Ben Haim and Abdoulaye Faye to compete when Finnan, Pennant or Riise pushed balls into the box.

When Bolton did win possession, their direct play bypassed a tiring Gary Speed, a spasmodic Kevin Nolan and a sluggish Ivan Campo, but Anelka was left far too isolated. As a result, Liverpool's full-backs pushed up. One can only assume Sam Allardyce was not too worried provided he got to half-time level, but his team could not go up a gear thereafter and Liverpool's wide play, particularly on the right, began to find spaces in advanced positions.

Pennant worked himself into good crossing positions and Kuyt and Crouch were always available, one coming short and the other pulling away whenever the winger received the ball. Liverpool deserve credit for having more than 60% of the second-half possession and 18 attempts on goal. Wanderers, through Faye, had only one.

Call me a dreamer then ... but I really think a 14-point deficit with 16 matches still to play is most definitely a realistic target to catch up on, especially when the competition is not exactly a 1-horse runaway this season.
For the record, Scums, Chelskis & Arsenal have all yet to visit Anfield this season ... & all of these matches are potential 6-pointers, you know??

Bro, at this point, we are practically at a match by match situation. As you said, potential 6 pointers, if we lose or even draw one of those matches, it's going to be tough.

We are also no longer in control of the title race (if it's still on), we have to depend on the top 2 dropping points.

We been on a great run, been consistently solid at home, and have a premium defense but until we get much closer to the top, say, 6 points, it's much too premature to say we have a chance.

And also to improve and prove ourselves on the road, where there are still difficult places to visit.

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

Good to sees everyone backing on Reds!! its reli very excited seeing them pulling closer to 2nd olace of the league.. but sincerely im praying a miracle to happen... 1st place

Chelsea reli doesnt bother me much.. maybe its becos they dun perform well now, but they reli dun have team work like what Arsenel or man.united or our mighty reds.. sooner or later they gonna to break down very soon.. thats y i sees liverpool will kick their ass real soon..

As for Man.united, they are reli playing some good football at the moment..
all thanks to RSR combination.. Rooney, Saha & RONALDO!!

i was thinking this.. if one day, Rooney gets injured, saha gets sick virus and Ronaldo gets burn out , all happen at the same time, what will happen to Man u then..

Yeah you can say im heartless or wat ever, but too bad im a REDS fans since my young days.. beside liverpool must keep on wining , they must pray something nasty happen at Devil`s camp..
