IMHO i think we played reasonably well...
quite an evenly matched half, thou konchesky cleared off the line in the last minute, but we did have created some half chances too...
1 player stood out is shelvey, he definitely looked and played much more matured than he is... he played in the "gerrard" position and was confident enough to ask for the ball and passes it well too...
hope he keep improving and he may just jump infront of the queue of youngsters trying to break into the 1st team...

-ngog's shot defected off a defender after a brilliant turn by him...

some thots after the match:
-aurelio MUST be our 1st choice LB when he's fit...
-poulsen made lucas look like kaka... he shall not be allowed anywhere near our 1st team...
-babel running out of chances to make an impact...
-spearing will not make it but can be an useful squad player...
-shelvey shall be given more chances and playing time... but may find it hard to come by as he's playing in gerrard's or cole's position, behind the striker....
-our defense still look shaky, caught ball watchign way too many times...
-overall, glad to see some of our youngster in action...

I would not mind pellegrini tbh. But once the 28 days are up and RH got the sack, full compensation applies.

I only saw glimpses of the first half and fell asleep. But agreed about Shelvey - much better performance from him than in our pre season warmups.

Thats what I thought too..

I think the main purpose we got Poulsen is to boost the morale and confidence of Lucas, letting him know he is not as bad as we always think...

Poulsen dont contribute to attack, he seems unable to protect the back four, always slower to 50-50 balls and when he did, its either a foul or he loses the tackle...

Finally 3 points good game, I think all the players played their heart out and surprising that included Lucas. But last 20 mins was real testing cos Blackburn looks like they were getting a hold on the game..

I think that's an apt assessment and very natural given our struggles. We tried very hard, perhaps too hard and it was good to get the win despite the nerves at the end and sometimes comical defending.

Lucas???...always full of energy around the pitch! Overall we did pretty well..have to single out Maxi this time..he did superbly well.

RH was persistent to stick to almost the same lineup when we lost to blue shit. Well alot of the players did well and Raul almost got a goal. Good to see him perform well.

Joe Cole is still a shadow of his best and could have done better. Probaly his out of position is a factor but he still need to pull up his socks.

Good win nonetheless. Let's hope this is the turn around we needed.
