Bro 5 digit only not 6.
Last time below rp10k/$ it was 4digits
E.g..9990,9995.
Now above 10k/$ it becomes 5digits
E.g. 11015
Normally the opening quote would be 1xxx0 e.g. 10950 for NAGOYA main road.
If at carrot area like in mall/ferryTerminal..the first quote could be 1xx00 e.g. 10900 ,11000

When bargaining ...
Then they add more significant digit.
to improve their competitiveness.
Usually the extra 5rp will came up if they know you changin big amount..

There are about 4 or 5 money changers in Batam Centre Ferry Terminal and the staff in these shops are eagerly completing for business after the visitors exited from immigration. You get better quotes as you move away from the first shop to the next, even revisiting the previous shop begets you a better rate which is keyed and displayed on the calculator. The 500 IDR is given to entice you to their shop.

Hi batam bros, wonder are there any prominent place near malls like nagoya, bcs, megamall etc to hop on to grab or go cars? Cos usually no problem getting from hotel to mall but from mall, they are not allowed to pick up. Or just have to take their fixed rate taxis?

Any idea what time does newspa at batam city hotel and octopuss at pacific palace hotel open? Thinking of going next tuesday which is ph, hopefully most people will be back on that day..

Walk to main road and go another 20steps away or go across the road.
Once off the sight of the regular taxi that shouldn't be problm

But if anyone is looking for a Geylang type experience of a cat150 PRC this cost me 1.2juta for an hour session in their presidential suite! Extremely clean and professional! Many levels above the room quality of Geylang houses , probably better than the 4 star hotel I’m staying in actually. Would recommend! But I guess I’m just a Batam newbie... haha

Is BCS mall worth going? And if I want to take taxi from there to harbour bay ferry terminal how do I do it safely without getting chop carrot head and/or driven to a backalley and robbed?

You must be quite lucky bro. My experience with Da Vienna earlier this year was not as good.

First, the bed sheets were stained. You could see black/grey prints that covered the entire bed.

Second, the toilet area had full of black mold growing at the rubber seams of the toilet glass in the shower area. All over the toilet was the same thing.

I thought I suay, so I request a change in room. Go to the new room, even worse. Same issues, but this time some lamps in the room not working somemore. Lol. In the end, moved back to the original room, and demanded that the bed sheets be changed - somewhat better. But the toilet left me slightly disgusted.

Third, Grab cannot even come into this hotel - this is not true for many other hotel such as Harmoni Hotel etc. I hate it when Grab can't be used (and I don't have an Indo SIM card).

I guess the only saving grace is that they provide 2 free bottles of mineral water as well as the fact that the breakfast spread was decent. Hahahaha.

Just finished my batam trip 3d 2n with 1 kakis. We stay at hana hotel, hotel is not bad $35 per night, but WiFi is bad in room breakfast is not so good. On Friday, once I check in hotel, change rate is 11050 nearby money changer.not familiar in batam, so engage a taxi bring us find cewek, 1St farm is hawaill, was quoted 1.5m juta for a young girl, find it ex, wanna bring down to 1.3m juta, but okt say cannot. So it piss me off, then went to 2nd farm MM, see a girl I like, okt quotes me 1.6m juta, after neg 1.4m juta, I take it, and told me guarantee whatever.my girl went to hotel, got this gfe feel,bath for me in toilet, auto bj and give nice service. Then at night went to harbour bay wey wey seafood, definitely worth it, food is nice. Then went back hotel bonk another round. And my nightmare start, around 1am indon time, my girl told me she can't sleep here, want to go back office sleep. I say why, she just go bath and pack up. Then ask me give taxi money for her, I say now what time only. She just ignore, and keep asking me for tip. I didn't give and she just go out take put the key card throw on floor and slam the door.
