Issue with ICA - Page 87

Hi Bro,

I plan to invite my FIL & MIL to singapore to attend my son 1 year birthday party in July & this is their very 1st time travelling on plane & oversea, can bro out there help to advice do I require to sponsor them for these short visit (most likely they will be here for just 3 - 4days)? They only can converse in Vietnamese, will there be any problem clearing immgration?

so the procedure is for my viet friend to apply visa in their country first, then fly over to sg?

how would i know if she needs a sponsorship or not ... would ica tell me?

my friend only wants to visit sg but she told me their passport cannot enter a lot of countries.

viet passport holder come to Singapore need not apply for visa..

It is obvious I do not mean this. They can check all they want, but remain in the open waiting area. You do not have to follow them into their offices. Call the police for assistance if necessary.

Asean members can allow citizens to travel to each other member countries without having a visa...

so Vietnam passport can travel to all Asean countries without needing a visa...

bro,dont be so worry leh,ICA only interested in those girl coming here frequently to work.Do u think your inlaw who is old will kana attention by ICA?They will treat them as normal tourist and some more they stay here for only 3 or 4 days and not extension for few months,so u dont have to worry so much and dont make them panick until like both of them come here is kana screen first before can enter.

Even if they dont know english,i dont think ICA will question them on anything cos they treat them as normal tourist come here to holiday,dont have to call ICA to check cos u will make yourself a fool if u ask them.

If a Viet girl married a SG man and is a housewife, can she keep on extending the pass? thanks.

Once they r married,the husband can apply a LTP (Long Term Pass) which is valid at least 6months to 1 year(renew yearly).If they are married more than 3 years or have a SC baby,they can apply for LTP+ which is valid at least 3 years( after 3 years can extend another 2 years).So long that the SG man got a stable income n pay his taxes,keep on extending should not be a problem.Hope my info is correct

so if the SG man is jobless or becomes so later, his Viet wife cannot stay in SG?

Best is make sure your in laws have your Singapore number just in case they got any problem at the immigration, play safe than sorry... the officers will call you and verify with your particular if they need sponsor
