Yes - have just had a nice natter with a good (lady) business friend of mine and she confirms that 女士 (nu shi) is indeed the correct way to address ladies in China properly.

If you don't mind, I'd like to relay here further the pitfalls when addressing ladies in China.

Whilst the term 小姐 (Xiao Jie or Siu Je in Cantonese) is perfectly correct in Hong Kong, Singapore and most other parts of the world, such terminology has the past few years taken on a more sinister meaning/connotation in the minds of Mainlanders - more so in Southern China vs. further up North and definitely so in CP!!

To them, being addressed as a Xiao Jie implies that the lady being addressed is a working girl.

I've often had to catch myself in restaurants as I'm so used to calling for waitresses by shouting out 小姐, and naturally address new introductions by repeating back their surname + 小姐. NOT a smart thing to do in China - heck, not even when being introduced to obvious working girls!! LOL!

One question, I know from the forum that most of Sauna or KTV in CP are just 10min to 20min by cab away from CP train station. Are there any sauna, massage joints with special or dirty footies that are just walking distance from the station? I'm solo traveler heading to Humen for 2 days biz trip, thinking of getting a quickie before going to humen. Thanks.

Try the Xindili just across the street from the CP/Dongguan train station next to the Kung Fu restaurant. I'm petty sure that the dirty footsie is back in play as well as the upstairs VERY cheap sauna with their grotesque girls!!

The footsy has OK acceptable girls, but the sauna gals, offering various combo treatment like massage+HJ, Massage+BBBJ or FS sauna are certainly NOT top quality; but what can you expect at those prices!! LOL

If you want a lot better gals etc, then the YiHao hotel is within a nice walking distance through some pretty rough streets crossing the bus station and a market - so its probably best for you to just hop in a taxi and take a 4 minute ride there. The YiHao supposedly offers the best that CP has to offer.

Just my suggestion.

Now that you're convinced that a taxi ride is in order - why don't you just go to the Virgin Hotel Sauna - which is reputed to have the best services/variety+quality of girls at a reasonable price (the rooms are quite well worn though...from pretty well non-stop usage!!).

The Virgin should not be over 10 minutes taxi ride away!!

I think the problem with Virgin Sauna is that the waiting time is always so bloody long, and the promised time is always never met, regardless of whom you book it from, or perhaps it's just me.
