Rat Infestation at Ang Mo Kio HDB

admin / 2 days ago June 29, 2015

Hired by Ang Mo Kio GRC Town Council, a pest exterminator company caught 91 rats and found 211 rat holes in May/June. The AMK Town Council acted on complains of rat sightings by Ang Mo Kio residents who have been complaining for the past 6 months.
The rats were found mainly at the central rubbish collection sites and HDB blocks.

Rat infestation is nothing new to the Prime Minister’s Ang Mo Kio GRC. In Dec 2012, the National Environment Agency (NEA) found numerous rats in the premises of two food court, Dian Xiao Er Restaurant and MOF Restaurant, at AMK Hub.
In January 2015, an AMK resident complained to the NEA of seeing “four humongous rats running arround” at Teck Ghee Court Market & Food Centre. A hawker worker was interviewed to say that the rodent problem is not new and the stall owners are doing what they can to guard against the rats.
