French aged between 18 and 25 from any French educational institutes can now apply for a Working Holiday visa in Singapore and live, work or study in the island state for up to 6 months.
Previously only selected universities in France are allowed to apply for a Working Holiday visa in Singapore. The Ministry of Manpower allows Working Holiday visa for young people from 9 countries – Australia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland, United Kingdom or United States.
Typically, a Working Holiday grant is both way, meaning countries with a Working Holiday visa policy tend to allow each other’s young people to go over to each other’s country. However, young Singaporeans can only be allowed to have Working Holiday experience in New Zealand.
What do you think the Singapore Government is up to restricting Singaporeans’ rights for an overseas experience?
