Query: Uber to and fro

Hi all,

Just a query, as I have never take UBER to JB and back. Is it possible to get such a ride?

I had wanted to travel to JB for some spa relax from work, and perhaps overnight in a hotel. But the travelling across the causeway and custom to a hotel destination seems to be very troublesome for someone who doesnt frequent, and no car. Lets say Bluewave or The Zon, they are so near the custom correct? Would their red top cabs want my service? Also keep hearing about robberies zzzz.

Regardless, if there are any Uber which I can take there directly and another back, would be great. Please share any experience, especially those without own transports. Any advice would be appreciated.

you cant take uber from sg to msia. the system doesn't work cross border.

what you can do is to book a uber car at jb custom or city square/komtar. its much cheaper compared to red taxis. but you need a data to book uber.

if you know how to walk to bluewave, its about 15-20mins from custom. the zon is much further. i think chances of walking and getting robbed might be higher.

You can bypass Uber and use the bawangchia. Same concept as Uber except you pay them directly and no need to use apps. Most of them are Malaysia vehicles but there are some Singapore registered vehicles doing this too. I normally catch them at Rochor taxi stand and JB Sentral.

around SGD60 onward.
to and fro about SGD120++

confirm no uber going cross border lah, can only arrange with private drivers, normal sedan going rates S$60 for 1 direction iirc, pick up n drop off at ur locations of choice in sg n jb (further away in johor different charges). the normal red taxis in jb cannot send u to sg, only yellow and blue taxis can, and even then, they can only drop u off at queen street (near rochor) there

bro TS stay jurong? if budget cheongster like me, can only take bus 160 if going jb downtown, causeway link for bukit indah/nusa bestari. when feeling rich then get private drivers lor.

Yes, there is uber. just use Uber recently. Safer!

of course TS knows got uber in jb lah, but where got uber willing to cross border with single passenger, risking the causeway/2nd link traffic jam?

I have yet to try overnights at the JB stables only going in for quick sessions.
Post or close to midnight are the taxi terminals still open? With the surcharge is it better to use them or Uber/Lyft because in Singapore past midnight damn hard to find normal Uber only the upper tiers.

Is there a express bus running to the usual stable areas? Going to stick within JB, don't want to travel KL just for FL haha.

JB-SG taxi available 24 hrs.

But from 11pm onwards till 6am there is surcharge pricing. (i.e. S$30 per pax X 4 pax) to any destination within Singapore except Pulau Ubin.

Normal rate is (RM$15 per pax X 4 pax to Queen St only) or (RM$20 per pax X 4 pax to any destination within Singapore).
