t effective way to go from hatyai?

I think only sure & cheap way to Koh Samui is to take minibus from Hatyai. The
service is by minibus to Surat Thani followed by ferry to Koh Samui.I did this trip many,many years ago.You can make enquiries in Hatyai .

Take direct bus from Hatyai to Donsak Pier then ferry over to Koh Samui ... if old man me not wrong only one timing for direct bus service to Donsak if not got to stop over at Surat Thani for other bus timings ...

Hatyai to Donsak Pier about 5 hours drive ...
Donsak Pier to Koh Samui about 1.5 hours "cruise"

Donsak Pier is in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. Was there in 1986, spent two wonderful weeks in Chaweng beach. No airport, no luxury hotels, just bungalows; real cheap one at that.
